Welcome to Horizon College International. We at Horizon are proud of our school, our teaching faculty our students, parents, and all our staff who have worked untiringly to help us through our journey of 16 years.

Within this period of 16 years our student population which began with a 100 plus students now stands at over 3000. Here at Horizon we believe that Education is a onetime chance and that our students deserve the best. Due to this reason the very location of our school was carefully selected by our chairman Mr. Upul Daranagama. It is an environment that is surrounded by lush green fields that is a feast to the eye. This quiet, calm and serene atmosphere is very conducive to teaching and learning. Horizon College is genuinely a co-educational school, committed to give identical opportunities to students who join us from a range of schools. HCI will serve both Sri Lankan students and those from the international community. Thus it is our responsibility to ensure that all our students feel welcome and secure.

There is of course, much more to choosing a school for your child than simply comparing factual information. The style of a school, its vision and purpose and above all its atmosphere will greatly influence how your child develops.

Our teaching faculty is well qualified and experienced and will ignite in your child the fire of curiosity through modern teaching methodology in state-of-the-art classrooms. Our classroom practices help students easily adjust to their new school HCI and make learning fun. The curriculum at the primary level is activity based learning and encourages creativity. Our students will be equipped with the knowledge and skill to sit for the Edexcel IGCSE examination and A/L examination. We are proud to introduce the National Curriculum for Year 1 students from September 2025. This introduction will provide parents with the flexibility of choosing the best academic path that caters to their child’s needs.

It is now our challenge, not only to have students meet the benchmark for passing international examinations, but to rise to even higher levels of achievement. In this age of accountability and testing, it is also our duty to be cognizant that education is much more than teaching standards and preparing students for tests.
