Welcome to Horizon College International! We at HCI take immense pride in our school community – our dedicated teaching faculty, our talented students, supportive parents, and all our staff who have worked tirelessly with us through our journey of 16 years.

Since our inauguration in 2009, our student body has flourished from just over 100 students to well over 3,000. Here at Horizon, we believe that education is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and that our students deserve the best that we have to offer. To this end, our visionary Chairman Mr. Upul Daranagama carefully selected the school’s location – the surrounding lush green fields are a feast for the eyes, and the quiet, serene atmosphere is conducive to both teaching and learning.

We are an all-inclusive school, offering a place at our institution to both Sri Lankan and international students, ensuring everyone feels welcome. HCI is dedicated to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and secure environment for every child who walks through our gates, irrespective of age, gender, religion, ethnicity or nationality. Without a doubt, there is much more to choosing the right school for your child than simply considering facts. The vision, purpose, spirit and atmosphere of a school all play a significant role in shaping your child’s development.

Our highly-qualified and experienced teaching faculty employs modern teaching methodologies, sparking curiosity and a love for learning in our students. Our state-of-the-art classrooms help to keep students engaged in their lessons and make education fun for everyone. At the primary level, our activity-based learning approach fosters creativity and encourages exploration. We have also launched the National Curriculum for Year 1 students, effective from September 2025, with the aim of giving parents greater flexibility in choosing the best academic pathway for their child’s future success. Students are therefore prepared for the Edexcel IGCSE and A/L examinations, as well as the National O/L and A/L examinations.

Today, our goal goes beyond helping students meet the benchmark for passing international examinations – we aim to rise to even higher levels of achievement. In this age of accountability and testing, it is also our duty to be cognizant that education is much more than teaching standards and preparing students for tests.
