“Sea Turtle Project” by the Prefects’ Guild 2019/20 
In February , the Community board of the Guild visited the sea turtle conservation centre in Mt.Lavinia.
Despite being the only sea turtle centre for the entire Western Coast of Sri Lanka , it was heavily underfunded and under facilitated – run by only 4 people, relying only on donations from visitors.
It was home to many turtles – many of whom were sick or injured due to human activities.
The Prefects managed to raise funds and awareness through speeches and videos and built a much needed turtle tank , in addition to making donations to the welfare of the centre.
